Hyundai India has revealed the official name of their first compact SUV. The sub 4 meter SUV will be called as the Hyundai Venue. The SUV was previously code named as the QXi. The Hyundai Venue is said to make its debut at the New York Motor Show and in our country on 17th April, 2019 simultaneously. Following this the SUV will be launched by the middle of May, 2019. The Hyundai describes the name saying, “it references a place where people want to be seen, or in this case, inside the vehicle, The Venue symbolizes a third space which is trendy, unique, stylish and perfect for the Hyundai’s newest connected SUV.”
The new Hyundai Venue will get the new age Hyundai Styling. However, the basic design will be borrowed from the Hyundai Creta. The new Venue gets a cascading grille with the logo at the front. On the interior, the sub 4 meter SUV will come loaded with a host of features as well as class best fit finish. The sunroof will be provided as shown in the teaser video. The other interior features include a large touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as the telematics technology, which enables knowing the car status and other information like driving style rating. The first class ventilated seats are also likely to be provided on the Venue. The dual air bags and ABS with EBD will be offered as standard.
The all new Hyundai Venue will be offered in three powering options in the country – a 1.4 litre diesel engine, a 1.4 litre petrol and a 1.0 litre turbo petrol engine. The 1.4 litre diesel motor churns out a power of 100 hp and comes matted to a 6 speed manual transmission. The 1.4 litre petrol engine produces a power of 90 hp and it comes paired to a 6 speed manual transmission as well, on the other hand the 1.0 litre turbo petrol engine will come matted to a seven speed automatic transmission. When, launched Hyundai venue will lock horns with the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon and Ford EcoSport.
Hyundai has called the Venue as the ‘Connected SUV’, probably because of the Connectivity technologies provided on the SUV. Time and again the name ‘Styx’ was associated with the QXi, however putting an end to all the rumors the ‘Venue’ is officially announced as the name of QXi.
