Hyundai Grand i10 was released back in 2013 and after some six years the hatchback is receiving some serious updates and modification. The upcoming i10 was under production for five years as said by the company. Now the nearly ready model has been spotted doing its final test runs in their home market, South Korea, camouflaged. The car is expected o make a global debut sometime in the later half of 2019.
The front and rear fascia of the car has undergone some changes and is a bit too redesigned. The shape suggests a sharper and well proportioned car than the running one. The car will continue be under 4 meter but the rear interior space area has been increased. A longer wheelbase has also been noticed. The interiors are adorned with multifunction steering wheel and a high end infotainment system. This is a feature Hyundai is going to carry forward. Though the other features are not known, but the manufacturer is known for decking it up pretty well.
The currently running i10, runs on a 1.2 litre four-cylinder Kappa petrol engine which is capable of producing 83 PS power and 113.6 Nm of torque along with a 1.2 U2 CRDi three-cylinder diesel motor which churns out 75 PS power and 190 Nm of torque. These maybe carried forward or receive some power upgrade. A five speed manual transmission system is the standard gearbox provided,along with a four speed AT offered with the petrol variant. The car is expected to receive an AMT version in the upcoming update.
The i10 2019 is a part of the company’s plan to launch eight automobiles withing next year. The run starts with the launch of the Santro (codenamed AH2). The Hyundai wonder is seen as a potential rival to the Maruti Suzuki Swift, which is a topper in this segment. The car is expected to be priced from Rs. 4.5 lakhs to Rs. 7.5 lakhs.
