Hyundai India has finally launched the CVT variant of the Elite i20. The car was initailly launched back in 2014. In 2018’s Auto Expo the car was launched with a midlife update, but with manual transmission system only. Now finally the Hyundai India has brought out the CVT one.
The CVT option comes with the petrol variant of the Magna and Asta trims of the car, priced at Rs. 7 lakhs and Rs. 8.2 lakhs respectively. The hexagonal chrome slats have replaced the two unit front grille which was present in the previous version. Redesigned bumper and headlamps just can’t be more in place. New alloy wheels have also made its way to the car. the engine options are 1.2 litre and 1.4 litre petrol which makes 83 Bhp power and 114 Nm torque, and 1.4 litre diesel ,which makes 89 Bhp power and 220 Nm torque, ones. The CVT gearboxes are known for their jerk free-ness and smooth as butter performance.
The overall length of the car is 3985 mm, breadth is 1784 mm, and height is 1505 mm. the wheelbase is 2570 mm. The tyre specification is 185/70R14 Steel(Era,Mag-Ex,Sportz), 185/65 R15Gun Metal Alloy(Asta) and 195/55 R16DC Alloy(AstaDT,AstaO). McPherson strut with coil spring in the front and coupled torsion beam axle with coil spring in the rear handles the suspension of the car. It has a disc brake in front and drum brake in the rear side. The fuel tank capacity is 40 litres.
Front fogline, waistline molding, roof antenna, rear wiper and front air curtains are few of the features of the Elite i20. Manually adjustable seats, cooled glove box, luggage lamp, seat pockets, sliding front armrest and centre control storage just makes the car more elite. ABS, 6 airbags and rear defoggers come as standard. Auto headlight control, power window with pinch guard, reverse parking cameras and sensors speed sensing auto door locks, ISOFIX and smart pedal features are also available in the elite i20.
