ASDC And Hyundai Signs MoU To Solve Unemployment Problems In India

The Automotive Skills and Development Council, ASDC, and the second largest manufacturer of passenger cars Hyundai signed a MoU , which will provide training programs and job opportunities for unskilled labourers. The minimum educational qualification required is the 8th grade pass certificate and an age bar of 18 years.

This agreement says that the training will be conducted in six training centers Hyderabad, Kolkata, Kochi, Ahmedabad, Delhi and Jaipur. A crore has been spent by the ASDC team. Hyundai’s resources will be used for the purpose. The training period will be of 50 days according to the ASDC curriculum. This will be level III and level IV curriculum. The salary of the employees will depend on the cities. Every classroom will have 20 students each.

After the signing of the MoU, Mr. S J Ha, Director, Sales and Marketing, Hyundai Motor Limited said, “We are proud to sign this MoU with Automotive Skills Development Council- A first in industry initiative by an automobile manufacturer in India for aftersales operations. As a responsible and caring brand , Hyundai is aligned and committed to the Government’s Skill India Initiative. we work with ITI and Polytechnic institutes in every state where we absorb close to 99 percent students in different entities in the Hyundai India Ecosystem. This MoU will further boost our commitment towards skilling and employing the youth of India.”

Mr. Nikunj Sanghi, President, Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) said, “We are happy to partner with Hyundai Motor India in this Skill Development initiative. This association is a benchmark in the industry and aims at strengthening the Government of India’s vision of Skill India in employment generation.”

The trainees will have the option of choosing from various courses which have been designed by ASDC like the Automotive Service Technician and Washer Training. This training will be provided at a subsidized fee. This training will let the unskilled and unemployed young generation to take up the After Sales Operational roles at all the 495 Hyundai dealerships across the entire country.

HMIL has nine car models under them, EON, GRAND i10, ELITE i20, ACTIVE i20, XCENT, VERNA, ELANTRA, CRETA and TUCSON. The Hyundai has a multi million dollars research and development facility in Hyderabad which helps in providing the customers with high end technology in the field of automobile engineering.
