Lamborghini India has launched the 2019 Huracan Evo at INR 3.73 crores. The Huracan Evo is essentially the facelift of the Huracan, but new bits and pieces make it more interesting than ever. The Huracan has been on sale for five years now, which speaks of its popularity in the global supercar scenario.
While there is no radical change in the overall design, the Huracan Evo has evolved very much. The front bumper gets the signature Lamborghini Y shaped style elements. The beautiful double ridged bonnet lines are inspired by the legendary Countach. The Evo also gets new hexagonal side intakes and the higher positioned tailpipes are similar to the one found the Huracan GT3. The revised styling and the addition of the aero package have resulted in a 7 fold increase in the downforce, 6 fold increase in aerodynamics and 16 percent improvement of the engine cooling. All these styling updates make the Huracan look more mean and aggressive than the previous one.
The cabin gets more interesting as well. In a first for a Lamborghini, the cabin boasts of a vertical 8.4-inch touchscreen unit, placed on the central tunnel. It controls the automatic climate control, seat positioning, drive modes along with an optional dual-camera telemetry system. What more, for the first time, the interior upholstery can be done in the Carbon Skin, which is exclusively available with Lamborghini.
The heart of the Huracan Evo
Powering the Huracan Evo is a 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 petrol that makes 640PS and 600 Nm, which is an increase of around 28PS from the standard Huracan. It is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission that sends power to all four wheels. Though this engine has been there since the Gallardo days, this iteration gets titanium valves and a lightweight exhaust system. The Huracan Evo also gets a four-wheel steering
0-100 comes in 2.9 seconds and the Huracan Evo can reach 200kmph from a standstill in 9 seconds. Braking from 100 kmph to 0 is achieved in 31.9m. At 1422 kg dry, the Huracan Evo is almost 160 kgs lighter than the Porsche 911 Carrera 4S, its arch-rival.
