Honda X-Blade : Auto Expo 2018 has seen many new launches and concept vehicle. However, there has been vehicle unveiled but are yet to be launched in the market. Honda too has showcased its line up and X-Blade 160 is one of them. Honda’s X-Blade 160 is based on the same platform that underpins the CB Unicorn 160 and the CB Hornet 160R. Honda has although finally started to accept bookings for the premium bike and as claimed by Honda the bike would be priced below ₹ 79,000 (Ex-Showroom, Delhi) after the overwhelming customer response. This would be fourth launch for Honda in current year 2018-19.
The Bike is very sharply designed with no curvy and roundy edges but with sharp lines from head to tail. The Bike is not the one we regularly see out there. The headlamp would surely make you remember the predator (Alien vs Predator movie) like mask with segment first features like full-Led cluster. The headlamps do also have a tall windscreen, which for sure gives it more aggressive look and makes it stand out as stylish commuter bike in the market. At the sides lot of edgy lines running from fuel tank to the tail lamps makes it look like armor like design. The fuel tank has been nicely designed and integrated into the side cowls. The bike with red shade has three tone colors with red fuel tank, black side covers and grey-metallic tails running towards the end which will make you feel premium. The Tail lamp is entirely led with split grab rails which is edgy to match the bike’s sharp profile. The center console is a full digital display unit which displays service reminder and gear shift indicator with hexagonal design which compliments it profile. The Honda X-Blade comes with eye catching graphics and colours to highlight the sharp body element. The X-Blade is available in five different shade – Matte Marvel Blue Metallic, Matte Frozen Silver Metallic, Pearl Spartan Red, Pearl Igneous Black and Matte Marshal Green Metallic.
Design X-Blade Adventure
The X-Blade adventure is very similar to the X-blade. However, the Adventure series features a lengthy transparent windscreen, gets a luggage rack which can affix a top box over it and a crash guard. The Bike is aimed towards customers who prefer low budget adventurer touring bike.
Power and features
The X-Blade is powered with same but more refined 162.71 CC engine from Honda’s family with a peak power of 14.12 PS. The front braking is performed by petal disc brake but does not feature ABS and also misses the rear disc brakes. The X-Blade’s sales would help in decision making for Honda to introduce ABS and rear disc brakes in future updates. Until then you have to be satisfied with this. The Bike comes with wider 130mm rear tyre, Hugger fender and a mono-shock suspension at the rear with a longer 1347mm wheelbase. The bike also feature dual outlet muffler (silencer).
The Bike has all new design language and has appealing presence. Honda Bikes are always a refined one and you can feel it on the go. Although, the engine is almost same but the power output may differ, considering the X-Blade Adventure version. In case you are planning and need a bike with new appealing design and road presence, you must go for it without a second thought. X-Blade will give serious uphill battle to its rival like Yamaha FZ-S, Bajaj Pulsar 50, TVS Apache RTR 160 and Suzuki Gixxer.
