Faulty Front Forks! Yes that is the reason 56,194 units of Honda Activa 125, Grazia and Aviator will be recalled. The people who owns one of the aforementioned three will be able to check if their vehicle is on the recall list once the company sets up a dedicated website. Once its done the owners will be able to check manually after entering the Vehicle Identification Number or VIN.
The Ibtimes report says that due to excessive hardness in the bolt in the front fork of the models Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India are recalling their vehicles. Initiatives will be taken by the companies to contact the owners and set up a workshop. The recall is mainly for the units manufactured in the time gap from 7th February 2018 to March 16th 2018. There are issues with the “Bolt Flange 10*42” as briefed by the company. “Honda, as a precautionary measure, will voluntarily inspect these models. The company will replace the suspected part, if required, on free of cost basis irrespective to the affected vehicles warranty status,” was further added by them. It was also said that HMSI will contact its buyers through email or SMS s. The regular Honda and Activa 4G and 5G aren’t included in this as they have a different suspension set up all together.
Its speculated that there hasn’t been any major changes in the new model though. The changes are basically reflected on the exterior. Activa 5G gets new LED headlamps and day running lights and the deluxe model gets digital analogue meter with a chrome and 3D emblem in the front. Honda suggests that, a prior slot can also be booked with the dealership, to check and replace the part. It seems they are focused in terms of customer service. The immediate correction of such a minor fault shows their seriousness and loyalty towards the customers. The company also claims to replace the affected part if required, on free of cost basis irrespective of the affected vehicles warranty status.
Honda Activa 125 and Grazia share the 124.9 cc air-cooled four-stroke engine, with 8.52 bhp at 6,500 rpm. Peak torque of 10.54 Nm at 5,000 rpm and is mated to CVT automatic transmission. Grazia is the newest scooter in Honda’s 125cc line-up with key features such as telescopic front forks, a front disc brake and 12 inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres. Whereas Aviator, comes with a 110cc engine. The 109cc air-cooled four-stroke engine has a power of 8 bhp at 7,500 rpm and bears 8.83 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. The aviator starts from Rs 52,796 on the other hand Activa and Grazia bears a costlier price tag of Rs 57,633 and Rs 58,133 respectively.
