Is it the Honda Fireblade launch on September 30? Or can it be a 500 cc motorcycle? The most likely answer would be the new Fireblade as the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer has released a teaser image with an invite asking people to block their dates. The invite itself has an image of a crown with the Honda BigWing logo.
Apart from the details above, there are no other details to say what the launch is, however, there are some likely candidates.
Honda Fireblade Launch – CBR1000RR-R
The new Fireblade seems to be the most-likely candidate as bookings for the CBR1000RR-R have commenced in India. Honda has updated its flagship litre-class motorcycle and it now joins the 200 PS club. The Honda Fireblade has been updated significantly and now makes 217 PS and 113 Nm of torque with a kerb weight of 201 kg.
The styling has also been updated and the new CBR1000RR-R looks sharper than ever and is also the first production Honda to feature winglets. So, the crown in the image could denote the return of the king of superbikes. However, this is a wild guess.
Honda 500 cc Range
Next up could be any, or all of the 500 cc range from Honda — the 500X, CBR500R, and the CB500F. There were rumours claiming that Honda could launch these motorcycles in India towards the end of 2020. Honda recently updated the range to meet BS6 emission standards, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if the 500 range is launched.
The Honda Rebel is also a good bet. It could be either the 500 or the 300 which is a hot-selling segment in India. The cruiser segment in India has gained popularity and with the upcoming Royal Enfield models, the Rebel could be a good alternative to the upcoming 650 cc cruiser.
