The CR V was launched by Honda in 1995. Since then it has updated itself and made its way in the most space efficient categories. This year the car has not only become bigger but also better in many ways. It will be released in the European mainlands by Autumn 2018.
The width of the vehicle has increased by 35 mm. The wheelbase has become larger by 40 mm. The ground clearance has also improved by 40 mm. The front passenger will gain a 5 mm increase in headroom and 16 mm increase in hip room. A tandem distance between front and rear has increased by 50 mm. A thinner fuel tank has also ensured the rear passenger’s legroom to be increased by 50 mm. There is a 6 degrees increase in the opening angle of the rear doors of the CR V. A new ‘wrap around’ sill is also introduced in order to avoid dirtying the passenger’s clothes while entry or exit. The boot space has the loading bay “footprint”. Dual exhausts have also been introduced in the car.
The CR V will have a seven seater option where all the three rows will be reclining. A single-action ‘dive down’ 60:40 split-fold seatbacks will ensure more freedom of activity for the passengers. The load space of the automobile has increased by 250 mm, making up enough space for a mountain bike to fit it. There are also extra large capacity door pockets, which will be good enough to accomodate a full size tablet. A new display audio system with Apple CarPlay and AndroidAuto connectivity is also one of the new introductions in the 2018 model. A volume button has also been introduced finally.
The Honda CR V runs on a 1.5-litre turbo I-4 engine producing 190 horsepower and 179 lb-ft of torque. A CVT is mated with the engine. The SUV is manufactured in 3 plant in North America, namely, East Liberty, Ohio, Greensburg, Ind. and Alliston, Ont. The price of the CR V is expected to be announced just before its launch.
