The all-new Honda Civic is launched in a completely new avatar. It looks bold with an aggressive front. The attractive car has got amazing sharp body lines and a newly designed rear. It is the best-selling Honda car worldwide. Last year, the company has sold more than 8.12 lakh units of Civic, globally. The new variant is the 10th Gen version which is introduced at a price starting from Rs 17.69 lakh and goes high till Rs. 22.29 lakh (ex-showroom India).
The all-new Honda Civic now will be sold in three new variants: V, VX, ZX. At the front, the car is equipped with Honda’s signature wing type Chrome Grille and LED headlights highlighting LED Daytime Running Lights. It has also got LED Fog Lights which is a new feature. In terms of dimension, it is 4,656mm in length, 1,799mm in width and 1,433mm in height. The wheelbase is now 2,700mm.
Moving to the rear, we can notice a stylish C-shaped LED signature tail lamp. The car sits on large 17-inch diamond cut alloys wheels which have received chrome highlights. It also comes with aerodynamic ORVMs and door handles with chrome shade. It has also got a stylish electric sunroof which is just amazing.
The cabin is a combination of elegance and comfort. It is more spacious compared to the previous version and more feature-packed. It is equipped with comfortable ivory leather seats. The interior is integrated with a large 7-inches touchscreen infotainment system which is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It has got a long armrest, sufficient storage area, and centre console which blends with the luxury theme.
The cabin also features a multi-function steering wheel which highlights Audio, Voice Command, Cruise Control or Paddle Shift. Some additional features include dual-zone air conditioning, Push Start Button, Remote Engine Start, 8-way Power Driver Seat, and many more.
The company has used many high-end safety features which makes it safer than previous variants. It is developed with 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, stability control, hill climb assist, rear seat ISO-FIX, electric parking brake, Honda Lane Watch, VSA, and a rearview camera. The top-spec variant is available with keyless entry, power windows, and seat belt reminder system. The company offers some choices like Advance Package and Chrome Package as well. The car has also got 5-star Asean NCAP rating.
The all-new Civic is available in 3 petrol and 2 diesel variants. It comes with 1.8-litre iVTEC petrol engine which generates 139 bhp of peak power at 6,500 rpm and 174 Nm of peak torque at 4,300 rpm. The petrol engine is combined with a CVT automatic gearbox. It claims a mileage at 16.5 kmpl.
On the other hand, the diesel unit has a 1.6-litre iDTEC engine which produces 118 bhp of peak power at 4,000 rpm and 300 Nm of peak torque at 3,000 rpm. The diesel engine is combined with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The diesel unit claims a mileage at 26.8 kmpl. The suspension duties are handled by MacPherson Strut at the front and Independent Multilin at the rear.
The car is 22kg lighter and 25 per cent stronger compared to the previous generation variant thanks to the new Honda platform. The car has a great demand in the Indian market and the company has already taken more than 1,100 bookings in the country of the all-new model. The car is available in five exciting colours: Radiant Red Metallic, Platinum White Pear, Modern Steel Metallic, Golden Brown Metallic, and Lunar Silver Metallic. It rival against the likes of Skoda Octavia, Toyota Corolla Altis and Hyundai Elantra.
