Japanese automotive company, Honda is getting ready to introduce the all-new Honda City sedan. The new version can be officially released by 2020. The company revised the Honda City earlier in 2014, so this will be the fifth-generation model. Although the company has not announced anything about the next-gen model, we assume that the car will be more stylish compared to the existing model. It will be highly based on the Honda Civic, which is also reported to be launched in India soon. The next-gen City is stated to be revealed as a mild hybrid technology in India, keeping the price in mind.

Honda is also rumored to modify the powertrain of the next City, which will increase the efficiency and performance. The company will upgrade the current diesel motors to follow the latest BS-VI norms which will get on impact by 2020. Previous reports also claim that Honda has already started testing the BS-VI equipped engine on India. Honda will simultaneously upgrade its petrol engine line-up too. If everything goes well in terms of legal conditions, then the petrol variant will also be revised.

The next-gen Hoda City will be presented in a somewhat increased top-spec line-up. It is rumored to get an updated interior cabin with some new technological features and the exterior will be equipped with somewhat extra premium elements. It is also assumed that the company will use the diesel CVT arrangement in its future cars which is integrated into popular Amaze. The company will focus more on the safety feature in the future car that can include Dual Front Airbags, Side Airbags, Reverse Parking Sensors, ISOFIX Child Seat Mounts, Traction Control and Electronic Stability Program. The existing variant is manufactured with just dual front airbags with ABS and EBD as standard.

At present, Honda cars have a really good sales position and the release of the all-new WR-V and the Amaze has improved the sales more in recent year. Honda is working on the release of modified versions of its line-up which includes CR-V, scheduled launch in October and Civic, to be released next year in India. The fifth-gen Honda City will battle against the likes of Hyundai Verna and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Facelift, after the launch. The launch is far, but more reports relating to the City will be soon reported.
