Honda has finally launched the new Honda CB300R in India. It comes with a price tag of INR 2,41,000 (ex-showroom). It is available only in select Honda dealerships and bookings are open with a down payment of INR 5,000.
The deliveries of the new CB300R will begin from the 3rd week of March. Honda says they have received a great response for the bike. They already have 3 months worth of booking orders. This means customers who want to book the CB300R will have to wait a minimum of 3 months to receive their vehicle.
The motorcycle is available in India via the completely knocked down (CKD) route. This explains the slightly higher price tag. It also features a unique sports cafe design which is a segment first in the Indian market. The design is based on the bigger, Honda CB1000R motorcycle.
The Honda CB300R also features a tubular and pressed steel which makes it the lightest motorcycle in its segment. It has distinctive design features a round headlight, sculpted fuel tank, seat design, tanks shrouds and also a unique riding ergonomics.

The motorcycle runs on a 286cc, liquid cooled, DOHC, single cylinder engine. This motor churns out 30.9 bhp power at 8,500 rpm and 27 Nm torque at 7,500 rpm. It is paired with a 6-speed transmission system. It gets a 10-liter fuel tank and a rated fuel economy of 30kmpl.
On the feature front, the new CB300R sports an all-new LCD instrument cluster. It also gets tapered handlebars with 40 degrees turning angle for a quick response. ABS is standard but it also features Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) to evenly distribute ABS to the front and rear brakes. It also gets 41mm USD forks up front and monoshock at the rear with preload adjustments.
