Honda Motorcyles and scooter India today launched its 2018 variant of CB Hornet 160R in India. HMSI is ruling the scooter market in india but unable to attract much popularity in 160 CC commuter bike segment after its Trigger and Dazzler failed followed with the outgoing CB Hornet 160. The company is eyeing increased sales figures with the 2018 Hornet. Recently, Honda has launched X-Blade under 160 CC segment and which has been much popular since it was showcased at Auto Expo 2018 and the Hornet 160 will sit above the X-Blade as it is more of naked sports commuter bike under this segment.
The 2018 CB Hornet 160R now features a full LED headlamps and surprisingly Honda has offered single channel ABS which is segment first and also features a full digital blue backlit digital meter, 5-spoke split alloy wheels and a welcome move – hazard switch (well, this is a much required feature while running through highways). Honda CB Hornet 160R is very similar in terms of design expect for the new wind screen and new body graphics.
The Honda CB Hornet 160 is powered with the same 162.7 cc single-cylinder air-cooled carb engine which generates 14.9hp @ 8500 rpm with a peak torque of 14.5Nm @ 6500 rpm. The suspension remains same too with a Telescopic at front and a Monoshock at the rear. The braking duties are performed with 276 mm petal disc at the front and 220 mm disc at the rear. And yeah! Now it comes with single channel Anti-Braking System (ABS) variant as well.
The 2018 version will be available in striking green, mars orange, athletic blue metallic, sports red and dazzle yellow metallic shade. The Hornet CB 160R is very practical and upmarket considering its rivals and with this Honda is trying to establish itself in this segment. The new Hornet is priced from 84,675 which goes upto 92,675. The CB Hornet 160R will rival against TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Yamaha FZ-S and Suzuki Gixxer.
