The Honda Amaze was launched today, after its grand debut at the Auto Expo 2018. The Amaze is manufactured at the Tapukara plant in Rajasthan, and India is proudly the first country to witness its launch. The Amaze will have 4 variants, namely the E,S,V and VX. As announced by the company, the Amaze will have the same price tag throughout the country, One India One Price.
The car has a length of 3995 mm, a breadth of 1695 mm and a height of 1501 mm. The wheelbase is 2470 mm. The tyre dimension is 175/65 R15. The subcompact sedan will draw power from 1.2 litre petrol engine producing 90 Ps power and 110 Nm torque and 1.5 litre diesel engine. The transmission options will be a 5 speed manual one along with a CVT for S and V versions of the car. This is applicable for both petrol and diesel engine. The MT diesel engine will produce 100 PS power and 200 Nm torque, and the CVT one will produce 80 Ps power and 160 Nm torque. The petrol efficiency is 19.5 kmpl and 19 kmpl for the manual and CVT mated engines respectively. The diesel one on the other hand gives an efficiency of 17.4 kmpl and 23.8 kmpl for the manual and CVT versions respectively.
The E trim is featured with 2 front airbags, all power windows, power steering, rear parking sensors and camera, 12 V accessories socket, ISOFIX child seat anchors, ABS, EBD, day and night rear view mirror and 4 cm infotainment display system. On the other hand the S variant will come with body colour and power folding wing mirrors with turn indicators, full wheel covers, 2 DIN audio system, AUX, Bluetooth and USB controls, steering mounted controls,central locking, power door locks and keyless entry. Adjustable driver seat, rear arm rests, cup holders, tilt steering and adjustable front seat headrest are few of its other features. The V version will have LED DRLs, front fog lamps, keyless entry with push button start, automatic climate controls, rear defogger, 7.0 cm infotainment system and paddle shifters. The highest trim the VX model will feature a 7 inch infotainment system with capacitive touch screen, GPS navigation, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, reverse camera and cruise control with steering mounted voice control.
The car has a price tag of Rs. 5.59 lakhs , Rs. 6.49 lakhs, Rs. 7.09 lakhs and Rs. 7.57 lakhs for the petrol powered manual transmission for E,S,V and VX trims respectively. The S and V CVT versions of the same are priced at Rs. 7.39 lakhs and Rs. 7.99 lakhs respectively. The diesel powered manual transmission version of the E,S,V and VX are priced at Rs. 6.69 lakhs, Rs. 7.59 lakhs, Rs. 8.67 lakhs and Rs. 8.99 lakhs respectively. The S and V CVT versions are accordingly priced at Rs. 8.19 lakhs and Rs. 8.39 lakhs. These are the introductory prices for the first 20000 customers. The Amaze sedan comes with a warranty of 3 years\ unlimited kilometers. This is to be one step ahead of its rivals, the Maruti Dzire and Hyundai Xcent.
