Honda Africa Twin: We have heard many reports earlier stating that Honda will soon start the bookings of the amazing sports bike, Africa Twin. Finally, the time has come, HMSI has opened the bookings for the 2018 Honda Africa Twin with a bang on features. Many enthusiasts have shown their interest for the latest bike since its official reveal date, although it is a limited edition variant and the company has produced only a few units of the latest variant. So, if you are interested, then hurry as Honda will only receive bookings for first 50 customers.
You can easily book the sporty motorcycle at your nearby Honda Wing World showroom. There are total 22 showrooms in India. The modified version of Honda Africa Twin has received a price tag of INR 13.23 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). As per the latest reports, the company announced a special offer for some lucky buyers who can win an opportunity to observe a MotoGP race live.
According to the Senior Vice President- Sales & Marketing of Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd., Yadvinder Singh Guleria, “The eagerly awaited 2018 Africa Twin is now ready to delight adventure enthusiasts in India. Offering new additional value, it offers several comprehensive updates. There is nothing to hold back an enthusiast on the Africa Twin, as it’s the most reliable, versatile and proven adventure touring motorcycle. With the launch of the latest version, the company introduces Throttle by Wire (TBW), Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) system highlights 7 Levels from Level 1, which helps motorists while traveling off-road to Level 7 for the highest safety while riding on muddy roads. It is outfitted with latest LED headlight and rear taillight. The company has also added many technological advancements in the two-wheeler like the all-new LCD instrument cluster and suitable lithium-ion battery. It’s even likely to adapt HSTC fully OFF.
The company has successfully decreased the weight of the machine by 2.3kg thanks to the lightweight lithium-ion battery. The performance of the bike will be much better than standard variant. It is also good to spend your weekend riding off-road with its smooth bike performance. It also highlights brakes (ABS) of 310mm wave style, twin floating front discs along with Nissin 4-pot radial calipers and rear disc 256mm wave-style along with a 1-pot caliper. The instrumentation comes with features like Speedometer, Tachometer, Fuel, Gear position, HSTC, Odometer, Trip Meter, Clock and ABS Indicator.
The 2018 variant will be powered by a 999 cc parallel-twin powertrain which is capable of generating 87 bhp of power at 7,500 rpm and 93.1 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. The engine will be combined with the identical dual-clutch automatic transmission. The 2018 Honda Africa Twin come in India being a CKD assembly. The sporty bike will be launched in a GP Red shade in the country. It will give a tough competition to its rivals: Triumph Tiger, Ducati Multistrada 950 and the BMW R1200GS.
