Hero Xtreme 200R now gets a price hike. Hero Xtreme 200R was launched back in August 200R and was the cheapest offering in the segment. However, even after the price hike, the Xtreme 200R continues to be the most affordable 200cc motorcycle.
The motorcycle now sells for Rs 90,900. This is Rs 2000 higher than the previous price. The Hero Xtreme 200R competes against the likes of the Apache RTR 200 and also the Bajaj Pulsar 200NS. But these two are significantly more expensive with a price tag of Rs 1.11 and 1.12 lakh respectively. In terms of pricing, however, it is much closer to the Apache RTR 160 and the Pulsar 180.
The motorcycle does not get any cosmetic or mechanical changes with the price hike. The Xtreme 200R sports a 199.6 air cooled, single cylinder engine. This motor churns out a maximum power of 18bhp and also a maximum torque of 17Nm. This powertrains also features a five speed manual transmission. It also gets a single channel ABS as it is now mandatory for such motorcycles.
The motorcycle has a sporty commuter design. It gets a sharp and chunky fuel tank cowl along with fatter forks. It also features bigger 276mm front and also a 220mm rear disc brake to offer better stopping power.
Hero Motocorp is also working on a fully faired version of the Xtreme 200R. This will share most of the parts with the 200R albeit an extra fairing. It also features a fully digital instrument cluster unlike the semi digital unit on the naked counterpart.
