Hero showcased and launched various products at their Hero World 2020 last month. Along with the bikes launched, Hero also showcased the Hero Xtreme 160R in this event. There was not much information about the bike along with the launch date. But now we have all the specs and features along with pictures. As the bike is now listed on Hero’s official website.
Hero Xtreme 160R is 160cc offering from Hero in the naked segment to rival the TVS Apache 160 4V and Bajaj Pulsar NS160. The styling of the bike is very new and it has that streetfighter look right away.
Upfront you will first notice the all-LED headlamp setup along with LED indicators. The side profile looks sharp and short, it gets a compact sporty exhaust. Coming to the rear you get integrated pillion grab handles which are flush in the body and look very good. The LED taillight is finished in smoked tint and gets a signature ‘H’ insignia when it lights up.
No, the features list do not end here. The bike gets an inverted LCD instrument console which shows you the speed, rpm, time and trip meter, it also has a first in segment side stand cut off engine feature and Hazard light feature which is new in this segment. A streetfighter should be a good handler too and Hero Xtreme 160R comes with 37mm Showa front suspension and an & 7-step adjustable rear mono-shock at the rear. It has 790mm seat height and 170mm of ground clearance.
The heart of the Hero Xtreme 160R is a 163cc air-cooled, 4 Stroke 2 Valve, single-cylinder motor which makes 15bhp at 8,000rpm and 14Nm of torque at 6,000 pm. The motor is fuel injected with 14 sensors and comes mated to a 5-speed transmission. The bike gets Single Channel ABS with 276mm disc on the front wheel. The front tyre is a 100mm and rear is a 130mm. The bike weight at around 138kg and has 12L fuel tank. Hero claims a 0-60kmph time of just 4.7 seconds
The website mentioned that the bike will shortly be available at dealerships which means the launch is soon on the cards. Although as of now Hero has shut down its production facilities due to Covid-19 pandemic. We expect the bike to be priced somewhere around Rs 85,000 to 95,000. It sure will be a good option amongst the 160cc naked bikes.
