Hero has been out of the fully faired sports bike game for a while now. If you were to remember a successful Fully faired motorcycle from Hero, you’ll have to go all the way back to the original Hero Karizma. After that Hero has not been able to deliver a successful product. The ZMR version never really took off.
Coming back to today Hero is doing well with its latest 200cc platform. With the launch of Xtreme 200R, Hero has further planned to use this platform. XPulse models based on this platform are going to be soon launched. A spy video of a fully faired Hero bike is surfacing online, which looks to be the full faired bike based on the new 200 platform or the HX 250R concept Hero forgot about.
The design in the video looks familiar to the HX 250R concept. The bike gets a bright red color. Devoid of any stickers, it only gets an ABS sticker on the front fork. The bike up front features a single piece headlamp which should be an all Led unit, a visor, regular reflector type turn indicators. The handlebars appear to be a single piece unit, rather than clip-on. The full digital speedometer is on offer.
Not much part of the rear is visible in the video, the exhaust though looks kinda similar to Xtreme 200R. Other parts would be shared from the Xtreme 200R, such as engine, suspension, chassis, and wheels. Suspension at the front is the 37mm telescopic hydraulic type with an antifriction brush. At the rear is a seven-step adjustable monoshock suspension. The front brake is 276 mm disc. The rear brake is 220 mm disc.
Power comes from the same four-stroke two valves, air-cooled single cylindrical OCH engine. It might get the fuel injection instead of a carburetor. The engine capacity is 199.6 cc. It makes 18.4 PS at 8000 rpm and a torque of 17.1 nm at 6500rpm. The compression ratio of the engine stands at 10:01. Engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
When launched it will be priced competitively, with a bit more price from the Xtreme 200R. It will compete with Pulsar RS200 and R15.
