The biggest electric vehicle brand in India, Hero Electric has showcased its new electric two-wheelers range at the ongoing Auto Expo 2020. The company is ready to launch the new range in the Indian automotive market soon. The range includes an electric bike, a new electric scooter, and a new electric trike. Finally, the company has raised excitement among its fans with the new models at the event.
The new electric motorcycle has an all-new styling and design. AE-47 is the first electric bike from the manufacturer. The addition of the new performance e-bike is a step to attract customers. The existing range includes low power two-wheelers only. The bike comes with an impressive lightweight portable lithium-ion 48V/3.5 kWh. The battery takes up to 4 hours for charging. AE-47 combined with an all-digital instrument cluster.
Some other features include keyless access, mobile charger, reverse assist and cruise control. Hero electric motorcycle rivals against the likes of Revolt RV 400 in India. The all-new bike claims a range up to 160 km and the top speed at 85 kmph. It takes acceleration time from 0 to 60 kmph in 9 seconds. In terms of braking, it comes with an advanced braking system with Combi Disc Front 290 mm and Rear 215mm. It also features Rear Monoshock Suspension along with Cruise Control feature.
Taling about the e-scooters, the company unwrapped the Comfort Series AE-29 (Grey shade) and Trend Series AE-8 (Blue shade). The company hasn’t revealed much about AE-29. However it is packed with a 3.5kWh lithium-ion battery pack which delivers power to the 1kW motor. The battery gets fully charged in 4 hours. It claims a top speed at 55 km/hr and range of 80 km/ch. The first IOT enabled electric scooter, which supports Bluetooth connectivity, anti-theft smart lock, mobile charger, app, digital instrument cluster, walk assist and reverse facility.
In the B2B segment, the two-wheeler manufacturer showcased a Trike AE-3 which is designed with modern elements. It features a first-in-class self-standing Gyroscopic stability tech along with Auto balance park switch. The scooter claims a range of 100 km/ch and speed of 80 km/hr in a full charge of 5 hours. It comes with a Li 48V/4kWh battery. The features include digital instrument cluster, mobile charger, walk assist, reverse assist at 26 km/ph, mobile app, GPS, GPRS, real-time tracking and geofencing.
Hero Electric will focus on expanding its dealerships across the country. So that they can reach all the interested customers. For now, the company has a total of 620 touchpoints which are likely to expand this year with 1000 dealerships. The company plans to increase the production of its EV range to 5 lakh units annually along with enhancing low-power scooters.
