Hero as been actively developing electric scooters and is putting R&D into the upcoming electric future of vehicles. Today they has launched extended-range variants of their existing Optima ER and Nyx ER scooters.
These new scooters take benefit of the latest FAME II scheme from the government. The company aims to expand its product line up to the commercial sector with the launch of Nyx ER. They are counting on the lesser investment and maintenance costs their scooter requires as compared to the conventional engine scooters.
Also, Hero has opened a new corporate office in Banglore as a part of their expansion plan in south India to increase its operations and open dealerships to reach more customers. Hero already has a total of 615 touch points in India and they have plans to increase it to 100 by the end of the year 2020. The plan aims to make the scooters accessible to the masses in small cities too.
Hero said that all-electric products from Hero from now on will be eligible for FAME II benefits, along with various benefits from the government the pricing can be kept very economical and competitive. Hero will also increase its production capacity in the upcoming three years to 5 lakh units annually.

One feedback that we have constantly received was the range anxiety associated with e-scooters, and with the Nyx ER and Optima ER we are addressing that issue and offering a package that is high on performance and usability.
