The American motorcycle manufacturer Harley-Davidson celebrates its 10 successful years in India. Harley-Davidson carries the legacy of making motorcycles from the past 116 years.
Harley-Davidson is one of the most successful and selling premium brands in India. Within these 10 years, H-D has managed to open 31 dealerships all across the country. As a part of the celebration H-D has started a 10 day long open house offering you the experience of H-D lifestyle.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Sajeev Rajasekharan, Managing Director, Harley-Davidson India Pvt. Ltd., said, “Harley-Davidson was one of the earliest entrants in the premium motorcycle category in India. Completing 10 years in India is just the beginning as we remain the cruiser of choice for many riders. We are thankful to our dealers, customers, riders and fans for all our accomplishments in the last 10 years. With their overwhelming response, we enter 2019 tenth with a very positive outlook.”
Within the span of 10 years, H-D has been hosting a lot of events and programme to keep the H-D experience intact amongst the riders. Events like Flat Track racing, Harley Rock Riders Festival and the famous Harley-Davidson Owner’s Group (HOG) riding programmes. In the 7th national India HOG Rally in Goa, more than the 2,000 Harley Davidson owner showed up!
Last year Harley-Davidson launched Harley-Davidson University in Gurgaon to train employees in their technical as well as business skills for dealers in India.
Mr Rajasekharan also added “Within the next two years, we plan to offer our most comprehensive lineup of motorcycles ever, competing in many of the largest and fastest growing segments – across a broad spectrum of price points, power sources, displacements, riding styles and global markets,”
So, H-D is also planning to enter new market segments, mainly three segments – Adventure Touring, Custom and Streetfighter. The year 2020 will see the start of the launch of new motorcycles, a 1250 Adventure Touring model will come first. A 975cc Streetfighter model is on the cards.
