Oh Yes! the cat is out of the bag. The first car out of the Suzuki – Toyota partnership will be called the Glanza. Toyota has teased the Glanza on its website and other social channels. Though the car is largely based on the Baleno hatchback, there will be a handful of changes to differentiate both the cars. In terms of pricing, the Glanza will be positioned above the Baleno.
The car could sport a different grille design and re-designed front bumpers, to say the least. Expect the front bumper and grille to have a design, similar to Toyota’s premium offerings. The teaser also reveals the design of the alloy wheels, which appears largely similar to the ones on the Baleno. Engine options could be the all-new BS-VI compliant petrol engine and the tried and tested 1.3 L diesel engine. We also expect the Toyota to arrive with the mild-hybrid tech from the Baleno
The Car will be available in two trims – similar to the Delta and Alpha trims of the Baleno. They are likely to be called Glanza G and Glanza V. The car is expected to be launched on June 6th and dealerships will soon start to accept bookings for the same.
The official statement reads, “We are happy to announce our entry into a new segment to cater to the growing demands of our existing and prospective customers. The name of the upcoming product, Toyota Glanza has been revealed to customers through our ‘Hatching Soon’ Teaser campaign today. Any further details on the product, variants, specifications, and the price will be shared at the official launch date.”
Followed by the Glanza, we expect cross-badged versions of the Ciaz, Ertiga and the Vitara Brezza to hit the showroom floors.
