Dada, as he is fondly called, the former captain of the Indian Cricket team, Saurav Ganguly, took delivery of his BMW G 310 GS. He is no stranger to bikes and has appeared in the Hero Honda Commercials before, along with actor Hrithik Roshan. Last year, cricketer Yuvraj Singh bought home a BMW G 310 R to his home. It will be very interesting to know if Ganguly took advice from Yuvraj beforehand.
Dada took delivery of his bike in Kolkata and the pictures were officially shared by BMW Motorrad. The adventure tourer styled bike is priced at INR 3.49 lakh (ex-showroom). We hope that he enjoys his new prized possession. All the very best for him from all of us at team WheelBHP.
About the G 310 Twins
The BMW G 310 R and G 310 GS are the most affordable bikes from BMW Motorrad that you can buy. The bikes are a result of BMW’s strategy to enter the 300-500 CC segment worldwide. BMW Motorrad entered into a technology sharing agreement with TVS motors for the same. The BMW G 310 R and G 310 GS are manufactured at TVS Motors’ Hosur plant and is exported to global markets. The G 310 GS gets high ground clearance and an up-swept exhaust to tackle rough roads.
Both G 310 R and G 310 GS get the 313 CC, liquid cooled, single cylinder, DOHC engine. It delivers 34 bhp of power and 28 Nm of torque and is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The unique thing about these bikes is that the engine is mounted in a reverse-inclined manner. It results in a lower centre of gravity and makes the bike much more fun to ride. This engine installation also allows the swingarm to be longer while keeping the wheelbase of the bike short. This setup makes the bike more stable in straights, while agile in corners.
BMW G 310 GS is available in three colour options – racing red, cosmic black and pearl white metallic.
