Finally, Ford India has successfully reported 12-per cent sales growth last year and the credit goes to all-new Freestyle. Ford has observed rapid growth in the sales of its domestic vehicles and delivered up to 97,804 units in 2018 compared to 87,588 units in 2017. The company claimed that last year (2018) was the most successful year of Ford as the company recorded the most remarkable growth rate of 12% till date.
In 2016, the company revealed Emerging Market Operation Model (EMOM) which soon became popular in the country. However, it took almost a couple of years to achieve this double-digit rate. Last year, the company has revealed many exciting facelifted along with domestic models which are the major reason for these results. Including the export of vehicles, Ford claimed rise of 265,714 units from 262,784 units in 2017.
The company launched an impressive model known as Freestyle which was also India’s first Compact Utility Vehicle. Its affordable price and attractive design dragged the attention of many youngsters and small families. Freestyle comes with a powerful build-up, potent engine and high-end features. It is available in different powertrain options along with an all-new 1.2 L 3-cylinder petrol engine which generates 96 PS of power and 120 Nm of peak torque. The fuel economy of petrol and diesel variant is claimed at 19.0km/l and 24.4 km/l, respectively.
Ford has also introduced a modified variant of Ford Aspire which is a popular compact sedan in the Indian automotive market. Some other launches include Ford EcoSport and Aspire facelift. Ford is also expected to launch the facelifted version of the Figo in the mid of 2019 and the reason is probably the reduction in sales by 66% as per last year record.
