Ford EcoSport 4WD: Ford EcoSport is already available in India, but the company has not produced the 4WD variant yet. Recently, Ford EcoSport 4WD was spotted near Chennai while undergoing the on-road test. As per the latest reports, this variant is said to be not intended for the sale in the country. As Ford transports most of the EcoSport SUV units from India to the international market. Ford offers four variant in the US including S, SE, SES, and Titanium. The recently spied images reveal that it was a mid-range SE variant of EcoSport. The international model is somewhat different from the Indian model. In the global version, the significant variation in the absence of spare wheel installed at the rear.
The Ecosport variants are powered by a powerful 1.0 EcoBoost engine and 2.0 Ti-VCT 14 petrol powertrain. The motor is combined with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The spied four-wheel drive system variant runs on a 2.0-liter Ti-VCT engine which generates166 hp of peak power at 6,500 rpm and 202 Nm of peak torque at 4,500 rpm combined with the same 6 speed SelectShift automatic transmission. The vehicle is outfitted with 17-inches, 7 spoke alloy wheels.
In terms of dimension, the US variant is 4,097mm in length (99mm longer compared to the standard Indian variant) that is essential in a sub-4-meter length for tax saving purpose. The company has recently introduced a latest Ford EcoSport facelift variant in India. In the facelifted version, the company has offered some motor styling tough ups in exterior as well as cabin which makes it different from the standard variant sold in the market. The cabin has received many top-specs upgrades as well as updated safety features.
The engine of the EcoSport Facelift is also updated into the latest 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder petrol motor from the Dragon range. The sub-4 meter SUV, EcoSport is developed with loads of safety features which consists of 6 airbags, ABS+EBD and ESP. In India, the SUV competes with the popular models such as Tata Nexon and Maruti Vitara Brezza. You can buy the 2WD in India at a price tag of Rs. 7.82 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi.
