Ford recently launched the new Ford Aspire Facelift. The car comes with minor design updates and a ton of changes underneath. Here we will compare the specifications of the Ford Aspire Facelift with the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire and the Honda Amaze.
Starting with the engine, the new Ford Aspire gets a new 1.2-liter motor. This is the same as seen on the Ford Freestyle. It generates 96ps power and 120Nm torque. The diesel engine, on the other hand, will be the same 1.5-litre motor which puts out 100ps and 215Nm. Ford will also offer the Aspire in an automatic option with the 1.5-liter petrol motor. This puts out 125ps and 150Nm. This is only in the Titanium trim.
In comparison, Maruti Suzuki Dzire petrol variant runs on a 4-cylinder 1197cc engine. This delivers max power of 61 kW at 6000 rpm and max torque of 113 Nm at 4200 rpm. The Diesel variant features a 4-cylinder, 1248cc engine. This makes 55 kW at 4000 rpm and 190 Nm at 2000 rpm.
Honda Amaze petrol variant uses a 4 Cylinder, 1199cc, SOHC i-VTEC engine. This delivers 90PS at 6000 rpm and 110Nm at 4800 rpm. Petrol variant comes in both manual and CVT options. The Diesel variant has a 4 Cylinder, 1498cc, DOHC i-DTEC engine. This is coupled with either a manual or CVT unit. The manual variant delivers 100 PS and 200 Nm, whereas the CVT variant makes 80 PS and 160 Nm.
Styling and Features
All the three cars have their own unique styling. The new Ford Aspire is not a full generation update and hence has minor changes from its predecessor. The new Amaze also has a distinct design language. The swift has a balanced and neutral design approach with subtle hints of aggressiveness.
The Aspire gets front & rear fog lamps, rear defogger, B-pillar black applique, and front grille surround. The Dzire features LED projector headlamps with DRLs, fog lamps with chrome fins, electrically adjustable outside rear-view mirrors and LED rear combination lights. The Amaze sports
headlamp integrated signature LED position lights, front fog lamps, shark fin antenna, power folding OVRM with LED turn indicators, and rear combi lamp.
On the interior side, all three cars get an infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Carplay support. The Aspire’s 7-inch infotainment system also supports Ford Freesync 3.
All three come with a beige and black two-tone interior with features like keyless entry, a touchscreen infotainment system and climate control on all the top-spec cars. Fit and finish levels are good throughout but the Aspire’s design is more cohesive.
New Aspire petrol is priced in the range of Rs 5.55 lakh to 8.49 lakh. Diesel is priced in the range of Rs 6.4 lakh to Rs 8.14 lakh. Maruti Suzuki Dzire petrol costs between Rs 5.6 lakh to Rs 8.47 lakh. Diesel variants will set you back Rs 6.58 lakh to Rs 9.45 lakh. Honda Amaze petrol variants cost between Rs 5.81 lakh and Rs 8.11 lakh. Diesel variants are between Rs 6.91 lakh and Rs 9.11 lakh.
