Santro is already launched in India and the fans are really impressed with the comeback. Hyundai has re-introduced the traditional tallboy design after three years of halting the production of previous Santro. The price and the addition of new features in the new Santro are highly appreciated. Hyundai has claimed that they have accepted more than 23,500 pre-bookings for the 2018 Santro which indicates the popularity of the hatchback in the country.
Till now, the booking was accepted only via an online website, but now it is also started in Hyundai showrooms as the prices are declared officially. However, if you want to own the new Santro, then you need to hurry as the first 50,000 customers can only enjoy the benefit of introductory prices.
In the launch, we have seen the car in detail and noted all the special features. Compared to the previous version, the new Santro has a jaw-dropping design. Let’s know some interesting features of the all-new Hyundai Santro which make it distinct from the old variant.
The vehicle is released in five variants:
D-Lite: Rs 3.90 lakh
Era: Rs 4.25 lakh
Magna: Rs 4.58-5.24 lakh
Sportz: Rs 5.00-5.65 lakh
Top-Specs Asta: Rs 5.45 lakh (All prices ex-showroom)
The top-spec variant is more feature packed compared to other variants.
1. All-new Design
In the first look of the new Santro, the large cascading grille drags our attention. The bold looking grille at the front has chrome assent which gives an amazing appearance. The stylish tallboy hatchback is outfitted with new fog lamps and noble sleek headlamps. On the hood, it has got bold lines. The company has placed its badge at the centre of the hood.
2. Revised Rear Design
At the rear, it flaunts the enclosed tail lamps and the company’s badge. It gets a revised bumper with rear parking camera and dual parking sensors to increase the safety as well. The top-spec variant is integrated with some high-end features. It is combined with ORVMs with the electrical set-up as standard along with remote keyless entry, power windows and rear wiper.
3. Spacious Cabin
The company has built the cabin for complete comfort. The cabin has enough legroom has headroom as the vehicle measures more than the previous version. The overall dimension of the hatchback is 3,610 mm x 1,645 mm x 1,560 mm (Lenght x Width x Height). Asta is developed with more front passenger legroom which is the most comfortable section in the entire car. The classy twin shade theme makes the cabin more relaxed and simple.
4. Interior Features
The interior is packed with lots of impressive features like rear AC vents for passengers comfort. It has received a black and beige treatment which looks sober. The top-spec variants, Sportz and Asta are outfitted with the 7-inches touchscreen audio video infotainment system. The infotainment supports many incredible features like Bluetooth, MirrorLink and inbuilt GPS, smartphone connectivity, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The main aim for the comeback of the all-new Santro was to increase and comfort and safety level. The vehicle is developed with 63% Advanced High Strength Steel and High Strength Steel which makes it tougher than before. It is integrated with side airbag and ABS with EBD as standard.
The top specs variant also get some high-grade safety features like the high-speed alert system and camera parking sensors. Some other features include impact sensing auto door unlock, speed sensing auto door lock and seatbelt pre-tensioners with load limiter.
6. AMT Option
Hyundai has also revealed the leading AMT gearbox option in the range. The company has launched the latest Smart Auto AMT which is new in the automotive market. The new gearbox will provide more fuel efficiency. Although, the company has announced the AMT only for Magna and Sportz. The AMT gearboxes claim a fuel efficiency at 20.3kmpl.
7. Factory Fitted CNG:
Santro is also available in CNG unit. The Hyundai Santro CNG will draw power from a 1.1-litre, 4-cylinder engine which will generate 59 bhp power and 84 Nm of peak torque. The engine is combined with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The factory fitted CNG will feature 8 kg tank and claim a mileage at 30.48 km/kg of CNG.
The all-new Hyundai Santro is available in seven attractive colours. In the launch event, the company claimed to offer an additional 3 year/1,00,000 km warranty with 3 years of Roadside Assistance. It will give a tough competition to the present and upcoming hatchback in the country like Tata Tiago,
Maruti Suzuki Celerio, and Maruti Suzuki Wagon R which will soon hit the market.
