Save the date 21st November 2018, ‘coz the 6 years old Maruti Ertiga is going to be launched in a brand new style and upgraded features. On an average the sale of the car is 4500 units per month. The Ertiga will be available through Arena dealerships and not the Nexa ones. Pre booking for the automobile has already begun at a small payment of Rs. 11000 both online and offline.
The ertiga will be coming to market with four variants, namely, L, V, Z and Z+. The Indian version will receive LED projector headlamps and taillamps. The exterior of the car will be having, larger chrome grille, new bumper designs, electrically adjustable ORVMs, sculpted tailgate and black C shaped cladding. The strong bodied Heartect platform based automobile will be riding on 16 inches alloy wheels. The car shares its platform with Swift and Dzire. The four wheeler will go by the following dimensions, 4395 mm in length, 1735 mm in width and 1690 mm in height. The 2740 mm wheelbase as been carried forward from the previous model, whereas the ground clearance is reduced to 180 mm.
The three rowed interior leaves enough room for comfort and the convenience part is looked after by the 7 inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, push button start/stop feature, reverse camera with rear parking sensors, keyless entry, USB charging ports and ISOFIX child seat mounts. The safety will be taken care of by dual airbags and ABS which will be standard offerings.
The automatic and manual gearbox mated petrol engine has been borrowed from the Ciaz. It is a 1.5 liter engine, which churns out 104.7 PS power and 138 Nm torque. The 1.3 liter diesel operated engine however will make a 89 ps power output along with 200 Nm torque. It will be paired with a manual transmission system. SHVS mild hybrid technology will be expected in both the fuel variant.
The price of the first generation Ertiga is Rs. 6.3 -10.69 lakhs, so, the new one is believed to be in the range of Rs. 6.5-11 lakhs. The not so old predecessor Mahindra Marazzo, Renault Lodgy and Honda BR-V are going to be some challenging on road rivals as soon as the new generation Ertiga is released.
