Emflux One : Emflux Motors a startup based in Bangalore, founded in year 2016, headed by Varun Mittal, CEO and co-founder Vinay Raj Somashekar and Ankit Khatry, has come up with all new Electric Bike! Ok.. let’s correct –Electric Super Bike. Yeah! A Super bike but not the regular one you see with big exhaust outlet. Emflux motors showcased the bike at 2018 Auto Expo and believe us – it was a complete show stopper.
The Emflux One is India’s 1st home grown Electric sports bike. The bike carries traditional outline of a super sports but don’t fall into that illusion as this bike is a super high tech Electric vehicle from future and will be competing against 600cc above Bikes. The Emflux One is completely designed and developed in India from scratch and now finally is out with some mind blowing tech. So let’s come and see what it carries..
How it looks ?
First look – The Bike is very much traditional to what we see in a regular sports bike. Emflux has tried every way possible to design it more like conventional sports bike like others and at the same time powered with electric drive train and motor. The bike has been designed with Tubular Steel Trellis frame for more stability and control while carrying the high weighted batteries and electric motor. At the front the bike hold a large wind screen followed by a vertically fitted Full LED headlamp which is nicely integrated to the front cowl. The side mirrors carries the oval shaped LED turn blinkers. At the side the bike has large full fairing cowls till the front and has immense powerful profile. The fuel tank (nah! It doesn’t refuel any fossil fuel) design has been kept to give it more conventional detailing. Well under the hood it carries the huge batteries and other circuits. The seating is a split seat design but missed any grab rail. The rear is fitted LED tail lamp and conveyed with independent turn indicators.
Power ! Power ! Power !
Bingo! The most important part of the bike. Emflux one is powered with a 60 kW 3 Phase AC Induction Electric motor mated with single speed reduction gearbox and produces peak power of 71hp with maximum torque of 75Nm with liquid cooling. The Electric Motor is powered via 9.7 KWh Li-ion, Liquid Cooled Modular Battery Pack. The batteries can be charged upto 80% in just 36% although the bike has a range of 200 km range, once fully charged. The bike can boom 0-100 in JUST 3.0 SECONDS with a top speed of 200 Kmph. Wow! Isn’t it like Indian Tesla?
The whole electric system comes with IP 67 rating which makes it fully protected from dust (6) and can also withstand being submerged in 1m (about 3.3 feet) of static water for up to 30 mins (7).
The Emflux one features 17 inch wheels mated to Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tyres at both front and rear with 120/70 ZR17 in the front and the rear 180/55 ZR17. The Braking is performed with Dual 300mm disc with Brembo monoblock 4 piston radially mounted calipers and Single 220mm disc with Brembo fixed caliper at the rear. The Bike also features a dual channel ABS. The Suspension is performed by 43mm Upside Down Forks and at the rear 46mm Mono Gas Shock does the work. The bike comes onboard with Battery management system , GPS System, Wireless connectivity. The bike also features a NVIDIA GPU system and run via NEXT UI with modular layout which is upgradable with over-the-air updates. We have pen down more detailed specifications at the end.
How much I need to pay ?
Emflux has two variants for Emflux One – Standard version priced at 6 lakh and the other one with three performance upgrades of Ohlins suspension, forged alloy wheels and ultralight carbon fiber panels priced at 11 lakh. Emflux has planned just 199 numbers of Emflux One in India and 300 Units for Export.
The Emflux One has all the good reason to place itself upward in the Indian market wherein the Government has already focusing towards Electric Vehicles. The Emflux One comes with all the goodies and will be the only bike to be controlled with a NVIDIA GPU system in India along with in-house developed OS. Although the design is very robust and dynamic, the bike can be more quality centric. Emflux One could become the next future of biking in India.
