The 21st edition of JK Tyre FMSCI Indian National Racing Championship 2018 turned out to be a good day for Ducati with two podium finishes. Gurvinder Singh Matharu secured first place on a Ducati Panigale V4 S. And also, Deepak Ravi Kumar secured the third position on a Ducati Panigale V4. The race was at the Buddh International Circuit (BIC) in Noida, Delhi-NCR.

The riders Gurvinder Singh Matharu from Redline Racing and Chennai’s Deepak Ravi Kumar successfully bagged the first and third position. They participated in the Superbike category riding the Ducati Panigale V4 S and Panigale V4. Both the motorcycles were running on OEM stock fitments. Also, Neharika Yadav, India’s leading liter class lady rider also participated on Ducati 959 Panigale successfully finishing the race.
On this occasion, Sergi Canovas, MD, Ducati India said, “This is the first time Ducati supported riders at the JK Tyre Racing Championship. It turned out to be worthwhile living up to the expectations. We are glad to have Gurvinder and Deepak as our pilot riders on Ducati Panigale V4 S and V4 respectively. Both of them outshined and dominated the race weekend on the Ducati Panigale V4’s. We look forward to our participation next year and further showcase the Ducati’s racing DNA.”
Ducati Panigale V4
The Panigale V4 runs on a 1103cc 4-cylinder inline-4 engine. It is a close derivative of the Desmosedici of the MotoGP. It produces a maximum power of 214hp and a peak torque of about 124Nm. This also makes the V4 one of the most powerful in its segment.
The JK Racing India Series is the premium category in the JK Tyre Racing Championship. Launched in 1997 by JK Tyre has now become the revered launch pad for budding motorsport talents in the country. Despite raising the bar each time, the JKNRC remains the most cost-effective programs not only in India but in the world.
