Datsun, a subsidiary of Nissan, started its journey in India with a “Go” and went on making its mark. It has been 4 years since that day. It has two cars under its banner, Redi Go and Go Plus, but is still stranger to the main market in the country. Recently the automobile manufacturer is all set to launch the updated versions of the Go hatchback and Go Plus MPV.
Spy images of both images have recently surfaced, testing in various parts of the map, under heavy camouflaging. Both the cars have already been unveiled in Indonesia, in May 2018. Body kits will also be revealed shortly. The cars will not be much different from the Indonesian ones. The ones running now, draws power from a 1.2 liter 3 cylinder engine, which comes paired to a five speed manual transmission system.
The new variants are expected to come with a AMT although its not yet confirmed. Newly designed headlamps, grille, LED DRLs, and bumpers are a few of the exterior changes noticed under heavy camouflaging along with alloy wheels and rear wipers. ORVMs with integrated turn indicators would definitely be a welcome change but it is unfortunately missing. Interior changes cannot be told yet but there should be something to add to the beauty there too.
Go and Go+ has had a rough start after it had been declared unsafe to be driven. The cars had 0 and 1 star rating in the Global NCAP crash test. So, it is expected the four wheelers will receive some safety updates like, ABS- Anti braking system or some extra airbags. Upon its launch the hatchback is expected to give a tough time to Tata Tiago and upcoming Hyundai Santro, whereas the Go Plus will be competing the upcoming Maruti WagonR 7 seater.
