Datsun has finally unwrapped the all new Datsun GO and GO+ in Indonesian market. The Small Hatch has been spied in automatic transmission many times until now. Datsun seems to have worked harder to improve the quality and offerings along with a CVT transmission. The Face-lift Datsun GO and GO+ are more or less pretty similar except for the stretched wheel base for GO+ MPV.
The Datsun launched in Indonesia has more sporty designing rather than just being a small family car. The Datsun GO and GO+ has now sporty instance with bumpers along with vertically fitted LED DRLs with black insert at the front. The headlamps are tweaked but seems much similar to the outgoing model but now comes with follow me home like features. The Grill is has now more presence with chrome surround and honeybee grill. At the side the car now features electronically adjustable ORVM will turn blinkers.
The Wheel are standard 14 inch alloys although the wheels look quite smaller compared to the Car’s presence. The Rear too has been revamped to match the profile of the car. The Datsun GO has new bumper at the back with black skid plates and sporty mesh grill on both the sides along with CVT badging on the left side. While the tail lamp doesn’t see much change but has a rear spoiler with LED brake lights.
The Change in inside is much more interesting. The car has now redesigned dash board with all black treatment with some carbon fiber texture inserts in between. The roundish AC vents at the center are now replaced with more practical one. The Car now features a 6.75 touch infotainment system which has piano black inserts along with silver garnish surround and it does looks well. Power windows on all doors along with power steering, two speaker music system, mobile docking station, AUX-in, USB port and gear shift guide comes as standard. While the cars still comes with lower specs in terms of safety with just one airbag and ABS.
The Datsun GO and GO+ are powered with the same 1.2 litre 3 cylinder engine. It generates 68PS and 104 Nm of torque in the G0+ while there is increase of 10PS in GO CVT which now generates 78 PS and 104 Nm of torque. Datsun has claimed that the engine has been re-engineered to improve the NHV levels along with being more fuel efficient.
The Datsun GO was much popular for its aggressive price and has been continuing it further. The Datsun GO has been priced at IDR 102,990,000 (Rs. 4.89 lakh) while the Go+ is priced from IDR 112,380,000 (Rs. 5.34 lakh). The cars are launched in Indonesian market while we expect them to hit Indian shores soon. The Aggressive pricing along with the ease of CVT is going to help Datsun. Although, the safety factors are still under consideration with just 1 Airbag. The car was rewarded zero stars in NCAP crash test which raises the concern of safety issue with the car. While we expect the car to improve its quality and safety features by the time it reaches India.
