Toyota reveals the tiny Daihatsu Copen GR Sport convertible car

Japan is known for making tiny sports cars that actually pack a serious punch. Now Toyota’s Gazoo Racing division has taken the Daihatsu Copen GR Sport and given it a complete makeover. This new roadster is a tiny, fun car for the entry-level performance car segment of Toyota.

Exactly how small is it? To start with, it is just a 2-seater. It runs on a tiny 660cc turbo three-cylinder engine. This motor produces 63bhp of power and also 92Nm of torque. How can it be a sports car with such a small engine? The weight of the car makes the effective power of the car higher than the actual power figure on paper. These types of cars are called Kei-cars (light-automobile) in Japan. The power from the teeny-tiny engine goes to the front wheels through a 5-speed manual or a  7-speed automatic gearbox. There is also a CVT option available.
