The plan to launch the new Civic and CR-V has already been announced by the Honda Car India Limited (HCIL). This officially revelation of the plan was done along with the launch of second generation Amaze. The second part of 2018-2019 will mark the launch of both Civic and CR-V.
The Honda Car India has a plan to release 6 cars in the country in the span of three years, which has already started with the launch of the Amaze. The company has not yet revealed any details about the other three upcoming models. It is suspected that a compact SUV will make its way in the list. Both the cars made their premier appearance at the Auto Expo 2018. The fifth generation CR-V will have engine options in petrol and diesel, which wasn’t available earlier. The diesel variant will have a 1.6-litre unit from Honda’s ‘Earth Dreams’ line making a power of 160hp and 350Nm of torque. The car is expected to be a seven seater, with a third row. The car has a compression ratio of 10.3:1. The bore*stroke of the CR-V is 2.87 in *3.52 in. The car has an overall length of 180 in, breadth of 73 in, and height of 66.5 in. The wheel base is 104.7 in. The maximum payload is 1091 pounds.
The Civic on the other hand, is a tenth generation model, which will have a diesel engine option for the very first time alongside a petrol engine option. A 1.8-litre naturally-aspirated VTEC petrol engine and the diesel engine same as that in the CR-V will be available. The Civic is expected to compete with Hyundai Elantra and Skoda Octavia upon its launch. The car has a compression ratio of 10.8:1. The bore* stroke of the civic is 3.39 in *3.38 in. The car has an overall length of 182.3 in, breadth of 70.8 in, and height of 55.7 in. The wheel base is 106.3 in. The maximum payload is 942 pounds.
