New BMW Z4 launched in India starting at Rs 64.9 lakh

BMW launched the all-new BMW Z4 Roadster was launched in India today. It is available at all BMW dealerships across India as a Completely Built-Up Unit (CBU) model from today onwards.

The sDrive20i starts at a price of Rs 64.9 lakh. On the other hand, the M40i comes at a cost of Rs 78.9 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.

BMW Z4 specs and figures:

The car is available in two models – BMW Z4 sDrive20i and the BMW M Performance model, the BMW Z4 M40i. The all-new BMW Z4 M40i is the sportiest model combining the elegance of a roadster and the athleticism of an M automobile. BMW Z4 sDrive20i can be customized with either the Sport Line or the M Sport Package. The Sport Line Package impresses with its sportier appearance whereas the M model gives the vehicle a more dynamic touch.

The M40i runs on a 3-liter inline 6 engine. This produces 340hp and also 500Nm torque. However, the sDrive20i runs on a more modest 2-liter engine pumping out 197hp and 320Nm torque. BMW also claims a 0-100kmph sprint in just 4.5 seconds for the 40i. The 20i is just 1.2 seconds slower in comparison.

Exterior features

The BMW Z4 sDrive20i is available in Alpine White as non-metallic paintwork. It also gets metallic paintworks like – Black Sapphire, Glacier Silver, Mineral White, Mediterranean Blue, and San Francisco Red. M Sport Package Missano also gets exclusive Blue metallic and optional paintwork Frozen Grey II metallic.

The BMW Z4 M40i is available in Alpine White as non-metallic paintwork and in following metallic paintworks – Black Sapphire, Glacier Silver, San Francisco Red, Missano Blue metallic. Optional paintwork Frozen Grey II metallic is also available.

On the exterior, the long bonnet, the classic soft top, and the short overhangs define the characteristic roadster silhouette of the car. At the push of a button, the classic soft-top opens and closes electrically in ten seconds. The newly designed BMW Kidney Grille sporting a new mesh design and vertically aligned headlights convey pure dynamism. BMW Individual Exterior Line Aluminium Satinated accentuates prestigious ensemble. The standard LED headlights or optional BMW Adaptive LED Headlights ensure a prominent stance on any road.

Interior features

The interior also has the typical BMW feel. It is futuristic yet highly functional. The interior sports two 10.25 inch – an infotainment display and an instrument cluster. It also comes with a wide array of connectivity and ease of use with iDrive controls. The cabin also features a 12-speaker Harman Kardon music system.

It includes a leather and Alcantara interior with blue contrast stitching and blue piping. As an alternative to the standard Quartz Silver, the trim finishers can also be specified in High-Gloss Black, Aluminium Mesh Effect or Aluminium Tetragon. Further, M sports seats with additional adjustment options along with an M leather steering wheel form a part of the high-quality cabin space.

Safety and other features

BMW also focuses on the safety of the driver and passengers. Apart from the usual safety features, the new Z4 comes with advanced driving assistance. This includes city braking function, speed limit assistance, lane departure warning, and rear collision warning.

The car also gets advanced parking assistance and adaptive cruise control. A heads up display also helps the driver. The car also gets M sport differential which optimizes traction and driving stability when changing lanes or in high speed bends. It also gets M sport brakes, Adaptive M suspension, variable sport steering, and Steptronic sport transmission.
