BMW had unveiled the concept of the roadster Z4 at the Monterey Car Week in Pebble Beach, California a year back. This year the production ready version of the same car is unveiled at the same venue. The 2019 BMW Z4 has been revealed as open top two seater version and known as the Z4 M40i First Edition.
Special limited-edition version of the sports car bears similarities to the BMW’s M division cars. The sleek long bonnet, which is taken from the old BMW Z cars, angular headlamps and larger kidney grille sporting a mesh design are some of the exclusive designing features of the roadster. The centre of gravity is lowered and has a compact wheelbase which gives the car a more agile motion, also there is a 50:50 weight distribution across the axles and wider track.
The BMW Z4 was jointly developed with Toyota and shares underpinings with the Toyota SupraThe Z4 is powered by M40i-spec petrol motor, the straight-six TwinPower Turbo which is capable of producing a power of 335 PS and a peak torque of 500 Nm. The rear wheel driven car is said to accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 4.6 seconds. The body work is the classiest anyone has ever seen, with 19 inch alloy wheels to compliment it. The engine will be mated to a ZF 8 speed automatic transmission gearbox.
Black leather trim interiors with decorative stitching houses electrically-adjustable seats with memory, ambient lighting, and a Harmon Kardon Surround Sound system along with adaptive LED headlamps, BMW Head-up display (featured for the first time in a roadster) and BMW Live Cockpit Professional with latest technologies installed.
Details of the car will be announced during the Paris Motor Show, in October, followed by the worldwide launch in 2019. And not to forget the car comes in an Exclusive Frozen Orange paint with Cerium Grey Metallic elements.
