BMW Motorrad brings two more motorcycles to the Indian market. The R 1250 R and R 1250 RT. Both the motorcycles are CBU units and hence will cost a premium. The 1250 R is the roadster variant and costs Rs 15.95 lakh (ex-showroom). On the other hand, the 1250 RT is the tourer version with a hefty price tag of Rs 22.50 lakh.
The BMW 1250 R gets a diamond-shaped headlamp along with a digital instrument cluster. It also gets upside-down (USD) forks up front and a mono-shock at the rear. The motorcycle runs on 17-inch cast-aluminum wheels. It features a split-seat setup along with a single, side-mounted exhaust.
On the other hand, the 1250 RT is a semi-faired bike for touring. For an easy touring experience, the bike gets a large fairing along with a triple headlight unit and windscreen. It also gets chrome finished, side-mounter exhaust, panniers, and split seat setup. The brake calipers get a golden finish too.
Both the bikes come with 2 riding modes and features such as Automatic Stability Control (ASC), ABS, Hill Start Control and steering stabilizer. The 1250 RT gets seat heating, central locking, tire pressure control, anti-theft alarm, Dynamic ESA, preparation for GPS unit, cruise control, keyless ride, Riding modes Pro, Headlight Pro and Daytime Riding Light.
Both motorcycles are powered by a 1,254cc, 2-cylinder boxer engine. It produces 134 BHP (7,750rpm) and 143 Nm torque (6,250rpm). The engine comes with BMW ShiftCam variable camshaft control that is claimed to improve performance and reduce fuel consumption and emissions.
