BMW Motorrad has unwrapped the much-awaited F 850 GS Adventure in India. The all-new adventure-tourer has been announced at Rs 15.40 lakh, ex-showroom (India). It has received an amazing sporty appearance. Performance wise it is more superior and off-road proficient compared to other models in its range. The company has brought the new bike via CBU route. The bookings have been already commenced at all the BMW Motorrad dealerships in India.
The all-new F 850 Adventure GS will be available in a Style Rallye package only that features golden rim rings, BMW’s dual-tone Ble/White concept, golden upper front fork tube and sports windshield. It is offered in a Pro variant only. The off-roader comes with a bigger windshield, broader front ‘beak’, all-new radiator shroud, oversized luggage rack, engine guards, and a tank of 23-litre capacity. The bike sits on 21-inch spoke wheels at the front and 17-inch wheels at the rear.
Additionally, the company offers the new bike with the adjustable rear brake and gear levers, a bash plate, knuckle-guards and an adjustable windscreen only on demand. The bike also gets LED elements like headlamps and tail lights along with LED DRLs. In terms of safety features, the bike comes with dynamic traction control, switchable ABS, cruise control, dynamic ESA, gear shift assist, two riding modes (Rain and Road).
The bike is integrated with 6.5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity support for enhanced riding experience. It comes with a seat height of 875 mm and 244kg of kerb weight. The adventurer tourer comes with 43mm inverted forks up at the front and a monoshock at the rear highlighting pre-load and rebounds adjustability. The braking duties are handled by dual 305mm discs at the front and a single 265mm disc at the rear highlighting a dual-channel switchable ABS.
The all-new BMW F 850 GS Adventure is powered by an 853cc inline-twin-cylinder engine which makes 90hp of max power at 8,000rpm and 86Nm of peak torque at 6,250rpm. Although, the company claims 95hp at 8,250rpm and 92Nm at 6,250rpm, same as the global version. The bike rival against the liked of Honda Africa Twin, most popular Triumph Tiger 800 XCA, Kawasaki Versys 650, Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT and the Ducati Multistrada 950.
