This year EICMA, Milan has seen some great launches in the motorcycle section. Including the Bonneville T120 Diamond edition, Brutale 1000 Serie Oro, Panigale V4R, Hypermotard 950, Diavel and Diavel S, Tenere 700, Royal Enfield KX Concept and others. From the BMW Motorrad’s stable, we get to see the new 2019 BMW F 850 GS Adventure.
The 2019 BMW F 850 GS Adventure is more off-road style motorcycle over last year’s regular F 850 GS. This new model still implements both touring capabilities as well as off-road agility seamlessly. It comes equipped with a larger fuel tank, auxiliary lights, bigger windscreen, reworked bash plate design, and crash bars. The rear subframe is strengthened, offering better support to the pillion as well as the luggage.
The weight of the new F 850 GS Adventure has gone up by 15kgs. It now has a kerb weight of 244kgs. It also gets longer suspension travel both to counter the added weight and to increase off-roadability.
BMW F 850 GS Adventure – under the hood:
The 2019 BMW F 850 GS Adventure runs on a 2-cylinder in-line engine with a displacement of 853cc. It produces a power of 96hp at 8,250 rpm and 92 Nm torque at 6,250 rpm. The crankshaft now has a 90-degree crankpin offset and also a 270/450-degree ignition spacing.
The new motorcycle gets ABS, ASC and two riding modes- Rain and Road as standard. It also has ABS Pro and dynamic brake light, DTC and also the new riding modes Dynamic, Enduro and Enduro Pro as optional equipment. It comes with a 6.5-inch full-color TFT screen with many features. An intelligent emergency call is offered as an option.
The exterior has LED headlamp as standard. LED daytime riding light and LED additional light are optional equipment. It has a 23-liter fuel tank with a range of over 550kms.
