BMW Motorrad has unwrapped the new-gen adventure series, the F 750 GS and the F 850 GS in India. Earlier, the bike was presented at 2018 Auto Expo and the prices were also disclosed. However, in the current launch, the company has reduced the prices. At the event, the BMW F 750 GS and F850 GS have been introduced at Rs 12.2 lakh and Rs 13.75 lakh, respectively, but now it has been dropped to Rs 11.95 lakh and Rs 12.95. Both the models are powered by the same features. Let’s check out the full specs and features of the new range.
The new bikes will be retailed as a Completely Built-up Units (CBU). The company has started the bookings of the bikes at the all BMW Motorrad dealerships. The BMW F 750 GS is specially designed for riders searching for an adventure bike with a low seat height which is the only 815mm, that can also be adjusted to 770mm via an additional kit. The special off-roaders are more compelling in terms of performance. The combination of striking design and high-performance capability makes it distinctive from other models.
The mid-range adventure bike from BMW Motorrad has received a sporty theme. The bikes have got the traditional asymmetric headlight and the GS-typical flying. The bikes are slim when seen from front beak to the end seat. It looks bulkier and bold which will attract the young generation BMW bike fans. Both the bikes are integrated with LED headlights with DRL’s, a new 6.5-inch full-color TFT display and Bluetooth connectivity feature which can easily connect your smartphone and answer calls. The exciting BMW Motorrad Connected app allows the rider to enjoy arrow navigation right from the TFT display.
The all-new bikes are powered by a powerful 853cc engine with a 270-degree firing order. The F750 unit generates 77 bhp of power at 7,500 rpm and 83 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm, while the F850 unit, delivers 93 bhp of power at 8,250 rpm and 92 Nm of torque at 6,250 rpm. The engine is combined with a 6-speed transmission, but not same in both models. BMW claimed that both the bikes are produced with a different engine sound and an exhaust unit.
In terms of safety features, the BMW F 750 GS and F 850 GS are developed with switchable ABS (anti-lock braking system), ASC (automatic stability control) and Rain / Road riding modes as standard. It also gets Dynamic ESA (electronic suspension adjustment) based on the flagship variant, R 1200 GS that enhances the safety of the riders. It has strong competitors in India including Triumph Tiger 800, Ducati Multistrada 850 and Honda Africa Twin, as well.
