BMW 620d Gran Turismo Launched, Priced At Rs 63.9 Lakhs

The BMW 620d Gran Turismo has been launched in India. The car has been priced at an introductory price of Rs 63.9 lakhs [ex showroom]. The 620d GT sedan will be available in several exterior color options including mineral White, Glacier Silver, Royal Burgundy Red brilliant effect and Mediterranean Blue. The sedan will be manufactured at the company’s local plant located at Chennai and will be available at the company’s outlets all over the country.

On the exterior, the bold kidney grille slats, front bumper, tailpipe and rear apron are finished in chrome high gloss scheme while the mirror base, window guide rail and B pillar comes with a black high gloss finish. The interior features wood inserts all around with leather wrapped steering wheel and ambient lighting. Besides that the sedan gets 10.2 inch infotainment systems compatible with BluRay DVDs, HDMI connectivity, MP3 players and gaming consoles connectivity.

Powering the BMW 620d Gran Turismo is the BMW TwinPower Turbo two-litre four-cylinder diesel engine which churns out a power of 140 kW / 190 hp and a maximum torque of 400 Nm at 1,750 – 2,500 rpm. The car takes just 7.9 seconds to accelerate from 0-100 km / hr. The eight-speed Steptronic automatic transmission with Cruise Control performs smooth, almost imperceptible gear shifts will come paired to the motor. There are no paddle shifts on offer. The 620d GT is offer with driving modes to suit diverse driving conditions – Sport, Comfort, Comfort+ , Eco Pro and Adaptive.

The safety features offered on the BMW 620d GT are six air bags, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with brake assist, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Hill Descent Control (HDC), Side-impact Protection, Runflat tyres (RFT) with reinforced sidewalls, electronic vehicle immobiliser, crash sensor and emergency spare wheel.
