The Italian motorcycle manufacturers, Benelli has unwrapped two new adventurer tourer for its Indian fans. TRK 502 and TRK 502X are the two all-new bikes in the country which has received a new sporty and bold appearance. The bikes were debuted at the 2016 Auto Expo and the Benelli bike enthusiasts were eagerly waiting for its official launch. Keeping up its promise, the company has finally released the two machines with a bang.
TRK 502X is the top-specs variant, developed with some great features. Both bikes deliver the same performance, but there is some difference in terms of dimension and wheel design. The TRK 502X comes with off-roading capabilities which will definitely attract the buyers more than the standard variant.
Firstly, let’s begin with the features of the top-specs variant which are distinct from the standard variant. It is outfitted with a bigger 110/80-19 wire-spoke wheel at the front and a 150/70-17 wheel at the rear by Metzeler. The X variant comes with 840mm and 220mm of seat height and ground clearance, respectively.
The standard variant sits on smaller 120/70-17 and 160/60-17 tyres from Pirelli. The kerb weight of the entry-level adventure tourer is 213kg. The seat height is lowered to 800mm and the ground clearance is 190mm. Both the variants are equipped with identical digital instrument cluster highlighting analogue tachometer.
The underpinnings and power figures also remain the same. Both of them features non-adjustable 50mm USD fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear which can be adjusted for pre-load and rebound. The bikes come with a 20-litre fuel tank.
The Braking system is handled by 320 mm dual discs in the front and a 260 mm disc at the rear that is combined with switchable dual channel ABS system. The new Benelli bikes are powered by a 500 cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled powertrain which churns out 47 bhp of power @ 8500 rpm and 46 Nm of peak torque @ 6000 rpm. The powerful motor is combined with a 6-speed gearbox along with the hydraulically actuated clutch.
At the launch, the company also announced to introduce a range of motorcycles including TRK502X, TRK502, Leoncino, C502 this year which can also come in the Indian market. As of now, the all-new TRK 502 is introduced at a price range of Rs 5 Lakh whereas the TRK 502X comes at Rs 5.4 Lakh. The customers will start receiving the bikes after 60 days. The all-new adventure tourer will rival against the likes of Kawasaki Versys X-300, Royal Enfield Himalayan and the BMW G 310 GS.
