MG Motors India, a subsidiary of the MG Motors UK has planned to launch at least two cars in the next year. One of the cars is a mid sized five seater family SUV. It is named as Baojun 530 SUV. The SUV is now spied testing in Halol, Gujarat outside the company’s plant. The Baojun 530 SUV is expected to arrive in Indian markets by early 2019 and this car is already on sale in the auto markets of China.
The dimension of Baojun 530 is 4655x1835x1760. The SUV is expected to be priced around Rs 15 lakh in our country. The exterior of the upcoming mid sized SUV sports squared off wheel arches, blackened B, C and D pillars, three prominent character lines on the sides, continental tyres and electric sun roof. Besides that the SUV comes with headlamps placed in C shaped housing on its front number.
The interior of the Baojun 530 SUV is inspired from its China based countpart. The interior comes loaded with a host of features including the 8 inch touch screen infotainment system with WiFi connectivity, a Harman Infinity sound system and provided with properly furnitured and comfortable seats. The standard safety features on the Baojun 530 SUV are side curtain air bags, start/ stop engine feature and electronic stability program from Bosch. Besides that the ABS with EBD comes equipped to the SUV.
The Baojun 530 SUV will be offered with both petrol and diesel engine options in India. Powering the India spec Baojun 530 SUV is a Fiat sourced 2.0 litre diesel engine, tuned to deliver 170 bhp power and 350 Mm torque. A six speed manual transmission comes paired to the engine. Once launched in India, the Baojun 530 SUV will compete on the likes of Mahindra XUV 500, Tata Harrier and Hyundai Creta. However the Baojun 530 SUV will be manufactured in China and MG Motors India will be collect the models at its plant in Halol, Gujarat. The MG Motors India is working to set up 300 dealership networks and service centers all over India.
