Bajaj has launched the popular Platina in an updated avatar. It gets a new set of features as well as an updated engine, yet not compromising on comfort and efficiency.
The new model is called Bajaj Platina 110 CBS. It gets the same engine as the Discover 110. It is priced at Rs 49,300 (ex-showroom) which is 2,000 more than the previous model. But its minimal considering the updates.
The existing models used a 102 cc air-cooled engine DTS-i engine, and the new ones get a 115cc engine. The engine produces 8.6 ps and 9.81 Nm of torque and is mated to a 4-speed gearbox. So, this engine should be a little better in performance.
As for the dimensions the Platina 110 CBS is 2006mm long, 704mm wide, and 1076mm tall. It is 3cm longer than the existing Platina. It has a healthy ground clearance of 200mm with a wheelbase of 1255mm. Fuel capacity has gone smaller by 0.5 liter at 11 liters.
Coming to the braking. Platina gets two options, one with both front and rear drum brakes or one with front disc and rear drum brake. But there is a major addition in terms of braking improvement with Combi brake system. Bajaj calls it ‘Anti Skid Braking’ and it combines your braking effort. So if you use the front brake it will automatically put the same pre4ssure on the rear brake. It helps in equalizing brake pressure and preventing a skid to a certain extent.
It also gets a new instrument cluster. The front suspension is Telescopic Fork and rear gets Inverted Nitrox Gas-Filled Shocks painted in golden color.
The new Bajaj Platina 110 CBS will be available over all the Bajaj dealership across India.
