Bajaj Dominar 250

Bajaj auto recently teased the Dominar 250 and now Bajaj has officially launched the 250 version of Dominar in India. While many are happy to experience the Dominar badge in Just 1.60 lakhs (30,000 cheaper than Dominar 400), rest few are not too much. The Dominar 250 shares a lot of with its elder sibling. Although, it borrows the engine from KTM duke 250. The booking are open for you, incase you are worried about.

The Dominar 250 has 248.8 CC, single cylinder, fuel injected motor which generates 27hp @ 8,500rpm and 23.5Nm of peak torque @ 6,500rpm, which is less or a detuned version of Duke 250, which pulls out 30hp and 24Nm of peak torque. Now thats very common as we have seen the Dominar 400 using same motor from Duke 390 and generating lesser power and torque. The Dominar 250 looks very identical to the D 400 unless you look very closely to indentify the front USD forks at 37mm compared to 43mm of D 400, also 300mm disc brakes at the front compared to 320mm of D 400 and a similar 230mm disc at the rear. The changes continues to the tyres with 100/80-17 sectoin rubber at front and 130/70-17 section at the rear which are tubeless, with all black alloy wheels.

The Dominar 250 carries features like all LED headlamp and tail lamp, Slipper assist clutch and dual channel ABS and the dual instrument console which is slightly tweaked. The fuel tank capacity remains same, while the seating has become more upright. Importantly, Dominar 250 doesn’t get the triple spark tech from its elder sibling and comes with twin spark.

The Dominar 400 had marked its presence in India market for people looking into tourer option and with addition of 250 the reach has indeed extended. Bajaj is trying to encash the Dominar badge with the introduction of Dominar 250. However, we have seen Bajaj ruining some very good products in the past. The new bike is priced at 1.60 lakhs (Ex-Showroom, Delhi) making it just 30,000 cheaper than what D 400 has to offer.
