Automotive Skill Development Council (ASDC) is a sector skill council of India, promoted by the Automobile industry, through the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM). ASDC now has a strategic partnership with TCS iON. TCS is a leading global IT service, consulting, and business solutions organization.

With this partnership, ASDC can reimagine the scale in which they identify potential candidates, equip them with the necessary skills, and match them with appropriate job opportunities in the auto sector.

Automotive Skill Development Council is the first Sector Skill Council (SSC) to adopt a new digital way in which they operate in India. TCS iON will work with ASDC to understand the workforce requirement of the industry. They will then accordingly develop classroom and digital learning modules based on its unique ‘Phygital’ Learning Methodology.

This Digital Assessment Platform will allow conduct knowledge and skill assessments and an intelligent algorithm will carefully match the skilled youth to the right jobs, at speed and scale. TCS iON will also bring ASDC’s training partner ecosystem onto the same platform and help the Council manage affiliations, enhance the quality of delivery, and improve transparency.

Venguswamy Ramaswamy, Global Head of TCS iON says that this association with ASDC will allow them to reimagine their training, skilling, and placement initiatives. “This partnership between TCS iON and ASDC sets a precedent and serves as a role model for all the other sector Skill Councils in the country, which is looking to make a meaningful impact.”
