There’s one thing that electric vehicles primarily enjoy, that is a great amount of subsidy they get from the government. Which not only promotes Electric vehicles manufacturers but as well as provide us, customers, some good pricing. And with further advancements in electric technology, it does not come with sky high costs.
Ather Energy is an Indian electric vehicle company founded by Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain in 2013. They are based in Bangalore and offer S340 and S450. S450 being the more premium offering is the choice among the customers. Ather S450 today received another subsidy benefit under Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles (FAME-II). That gives the scooter a Rs 5,000 discount over the current price of Rs 1.28 Lakh, and the Scooter will now sell for Rs 1.23 Lakh (on-road, Bangalore ).
The company has halted the deliveries for the S450 until the approval of the government. But now approved, the deliveries will continue with the updated price. The company said “Ather 450 is FAME 2 compliant and will receive an increased subsidy of Rs. 27,000. Though orders for the scooter have continued in Bengaluru through the month of April, deliveries had been held off by the company to the new subsidy benefit could be passed on to the owners. Consumers can expect their Ather 450s to start being delivered in the next couple of weeks, with the new on road price of Rs. 1,23,230”
Talking about the Ather S450 it is powered by a 2.4 kWh Li-ion battery pack which gives 5.4 kW (7.2PS) of power output and a 20.5Nm of torque from the word go! The range is claimed to be 75 km in the Eco mode and 55km in the Sport mode. Top speed is claimed to be 80kmph.
