Aston Martin’s two seater sports car the Vantage V8 has finally been made. It is now going to come to market , with the Gaydon Production-line. The deliveries will begin by the end of May.
This sports car is hand-built at the production plant and headquarters in Gaydon, Warwickshire. The car is of the Rapid S, the DB 11. The Vantage V8 is the second member of the Aston Martin’s ‘Second Century Plan’. In the words of Dr. Andy Palmer, President and CEO, Aston Martin ,” Today marks an exciting moment for the entire company and an important day in the history of Aston Martin. The out going vantage was the single most successful model in Aston Martin’s history and we believe its successor will surpass that. We will do this by retention of our important existing owners and through repositioning of the car, create new customers in countries.” The Vantage V8 is the best luxury sports car in the segment, whose design resembles the track only Vulcan, under the guidance of the chief designer of Aston Martin, Miles Nurnberger.
The Vantage runs on a Mercedes-AMG’s M178 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that churns out a 503 bhp power (510 PS) and 685 N⋅m torque. The car accelarates from 0-100 kmph in 3.6 secs. The highest speed claimed by the car is 314 kmph. The car comes with 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox and a 7 speed manual one will follow later. The Vantage has a length of 4465 mm , breadth of 1943 mm and height of 1272 mm. The wheel base of the car is 2705 mm. The kerb weight of the car is 1530 kgs. The car has a front and rear weight ratio of 1:1.
The CEO, Dr. Andy Palmer also said, ” The new Vantage ticks all boxes for a luxury sports car and unashamedly aspires to be the best in its segment. With the imminent launch of the DBS Superleggera, we are on track to replace each of our existing two door sports car models by the end of this year.”
