Luxury British carmaker Aston Martin does make some of the most beautiful looking cars. And they have done it again and revealed one of the most beautiful sports convertibles you can buy. The recipe for this convertible comes from their flagship model DBS Superleggera, which is already a gorgeous looking machine.
The Aston Martin DBS Superleggera Volante is the fastest convertible to ever come out of their company. It gets the same engine mill from the DBS Superleggera, but it does get a healthy dose of steroids.
Coming to the front you’ll notice that massive gaping mouth of the grille, which gives the Volante an aggressive front profile. It also gets various aerodynamics part such as a splitter in the front, and the amazing looking air intakes on the side of the car! which help in better air flow. Also the rear spoiler, Aerobslde II is borrowed from the DBS Superleggera. The rear also gets a large diffuser. Though the Volante is 3kg less on downforce at maximum speed compared to the DBS Superleggera Coupe.
The interiors are as you would expect from a premium brand like Aston Martin. Lots of high-quality leather along with some use of carbon fiber. The roof has been designed with the fabric having insulation layers, for quieter cabin noise when it’s close. Coming to the star of the show, the Roof is quite fast to open. It takes 14 seconds to open and 16 seconds to close back. It can also be controlled with the car key when you’re outside. Aston Martin offers 8 color options for the roof, but the black especially looks a stunner. There is also a choice of six headliner options from Rokona. That roof does at a bit of weight, Volante is 170 kg heavier than the coupe.
The Volante is powered by a 5.2 Litre, Twin turbocharged V12 which makes 725PS and a hefty 900Nm of torque! The transmission is the same eight-speed ZF transmission that channels the power to rear wheels. The Volante can do a sprint to 100kmph in 3.6 seconds, marginally slower than the Coupe, but way more fun with that open roof. The top speed is claimed to be 340kmph. It is offered with 21-inch alloy wheels as standard.
Aston Martin has priced the Volante at $329,100 which is little over 2 crore Indian rupees. Deliveries are set to begin in the third quarter of 2019. Talking about the competition, it competes with other convertibles such as the Lamborghini Aventador S.
