Piaggio has showcased the Aprilia SXR 160 scooter here at the Auto Expo 2020. Infact, they took the wraps off the 160cc scooter at the Expo. The SXR 160 will be manufactured locally and is expected to go on sale during this year’s festive season. The latest scooter from Aprilia features a Crossmax design and promises to be a fun-to-ride machine. The scooter has a sporty appeal to it and also has spot-on ergonomics for a comfortable ride.
The SXR 160, as it can be had from the name will be available with an all-new 160cc BS6 engine, while we can also expect it to sport the 125 CC BS6 engine. Both the engines are fuel injected. It is to be noted that all the scooters in the Aprilia and the Vespa lineup have ditched the carburettor and switched to Fuel Injection for a clean and green riding experience.
The SXR 160 comes equipped with a LED Twin headlamps and tail lamps. It also has LED DRL lamps. The under seat storage is well lit up now and the split glove box features an USB charging port(pretty needed for the Gen Y and Gen Z riders). Other notable features include integrated fly screen, raised handlebar, a large multi-function and and all-digital instrument cluster. The SXR 160 also features ABS as standard and comes with a front disc brake. The scooter has alloy wheels, which are a 5 spoke unit and are shod with a wide pattern tyres.
The SXR 160 will available in 4 shades viz., Red, Blue, White and Black. A lot of official accessories are planned and owners can choose from a wide range including connectivity features and mobile docking. Booking for this scooter is set to begin from August 2020. Considering the premium features that available on board this scooter, expect it to be priced north of INR 1 lakh.
